Intended Use

HL158UA automatically measures human's Systolic, Diastolic blood pressure and heart rate by using the oscillometric method during inflation. All values can be read out in one LCD panel. Measurement position is at human being's wrist. The intended use of this over-the-counter device is for adults aged 18 years and older with arm circumference ranging from 5.3 inches to 7.7 inches (approx.13.5 cm to 19.5 cm) and for home use. HL158UA detects the appearance of irregular heartbeats during measurement; an indicated symbol will appear with measuring reading. And the Risk Category Indicator will show the information with the readings on the screen for the user tracking their blood pressure level.

Device Story

Wrist-worn oscillometric blood pressure monitor; measures systolic/diastolic pressure and heart rate during cuff inflation. User-operated at home. Features include irregular heartbeat detection (rhythm variation >25% from average) and Risk Category Indicator for tracking blood pressure levels. Includes Wrist Position Guide to assist user in correct placement. Output displayed on integrated LCD panel. Assists users in monitoring blood pressure trends.

Clinical Evidence

Clinical validation performed per ISO 81060-2:2013 (Second Edition). Results demonstrated that predetermined acceptance criteria for automated non-invasive sphygmomanometers were fully met.

Technological Characteristics

Oscillometric measurement during inflation; pressure range 0-300 mmHg; pulse range 40-199 bpm. ABS housing/keys. Powered by 2 AAA alkaline batteries. LCD display. Wrist-worn form factor. Compliant with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, IEC 80601-2-30, and ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards.

Indications for Use

Indicated for adults aged 18+ with wrist circumference 5.3-7.7 inches (135-195 mm) for home-use blood pressure and heart rate monitoring via oscillometric method.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A noninvasive blood pressure measurement system is a device that provides a signal from which systolic, diastolic, mean, or any combination of the three pressures can be derived through the use of tranducers placed on the surface of the body.
