Intended Use

Stereo 3D option is an embedded software module for Vision 2 and TrackVision 2 applications; operates on Advantage Workstation (AW). Inputs: live 2D fluoroscopic/radiographic images from interventional X-ray systems and pre-acquired 3D datasets (XA, CT, MR). Operation: reconstructs 3D objects (needles, points, segments) from two 2D X-ray projections acquired at different C-arm angles; fuses reconstructed objects with 3D anatomical models. Workflow: image acquisition/registration; manual or automatic object identification; quality assessment; display on cross-sections. Output: 3D visualization of needles/markers overlaid on 3D anatomy. Used in interventional suites by physicians to guide procedures; provides alternative to intraoperative cone beam CT with lower radiation dose. Output assists in needle/catheter placement accuracy.

The Stereo 3D option provides a method to reconstruct 3D contrasted objects (point and segments) from a pair of 2D X-ray images, e.g. acquisition of fluoroscopic images from different C-arm positions (2 different projections). The 3D object reconstruction is then fused in the 3D space with the 3D model used at the fusion of the x-ray image.<br><br>Stereo 3D has a workflow that is significantly guided, to support clear and easy use of the reconstruction procedure.
