Intended Use

KIMGUARD ONE-STEP® Sterilization Wraps are intended to enclose another medical device that is to be sterilized by a healthcare provider using: - Sterilucent PSD-85 Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer that include: - Lumen Cycle and - Non-Lumen Cycle. KIMGUARD* ONE-STEP* Sterlization Wrap (KC100, KC200, KC300 and KC600) are intended to allow sterilization of the enclosed medical device(s) and also maintain sterility of the enclosed device(s) until used.

Device Story

KIMGUARD ONE-STEP Sterilization Wrap consists of two ultrasonically seamed sheets of nonwoven polypropylene fabric; used by healthcare providers to wrap medical devices prior to sterilization. The wrap acts as a barrier to maintain sterility of the enclosed items post-sterilization. It is designed for use with the Sterilucent PSD-85 Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer (Lumen and Non-Lumen cycles). The wrap allows sterilant penetration and aeration during the sterilization process. Post-sterilization, the wrap maintains the sterility of the contents until the package is opened aseptically for clinical use. The device is single-use and provided non-sterile.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing included sterilant penetration, material compatibility/biocompatibility (cytotoxicity, intracutaneous reactivity, sensitization), performance testing post-sterilization, and maintenance of package integrity for 180 days. All tests met acceptance criteria.

Technological Characteristics

Two-sheet ultrasonically seamed nonwoven polypropylene fabric; three-layer SMS (spunbound-meltblown-spunbound) construction. Materials include polypropylene, <2% phthalocyanine blue pigment, <1% titanium dioxide, and <0.008% antistatic treatment. Thermal bonding with round pin, hexagonal, and triangle pattern. Single-use, non-sterile.

Indications for Use

Indicated for healthcare providers to enclose medical devices for sterilization in the Sterilucent PSD-85 Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizer (Lumen and Non-Lumen cycles) and to maintain sterility of the enclosed devices until use.

This seamed configuration allows for convenient wrapping of an article using two sheets simultaneously. These studies demonstrate that the KIMGUARD* ONE-STEP* Sterilization Wrap met the same criteria as the predicate devices and are substantially equivalent.
