Intended Use

The NDOHD system is intended for viewing, acquiring, archiving and retrieving video and still images of endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures. The professionals or practitioners using this system would be medical doctors or clinicians such as speech pathologists. The device is a prescription device. The NDOHD system is not intended to be used in an environment that requires sterilization.

Device Story

NDOHD High Definition Imaging System (PACS) captures, displays, archives, and retrieves video and still images from endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures. System components include a computer, camera, and display. Input data (video/still images) processed via H.264 lossy compression; system adds time codes to displays; provides camera controls and user-defined profiles. Operated by clinicians/physicians in clinical settings; not for sterile environments. Battery-operated; safety controls prevent use while connected to AC power. Output viewed on built-in display; supports clinical documentation and procedure review. Benefits include high-definition visualization and digital management of endoscopic/fluoroscopic data.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. No clinical data provided. Software validation and electrical safety testing performed per FDA guidance and IEC standards (IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-1, IEC 60601-2-18).

Technological Characteristics

PACS device; non-removable hard drive storage; built-in computer display; H.264 lossy image compression; battery-operated with AC-power safety interlocks. Software-controlled recording, playback, and live view. Complies with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-1, and IEC 60601-2-18. Camera sensor: 1/3" CCD, 1032x762 resolution, 31 FPS, 8-14 bit depth.

Indications for Use

Indicated for viewing, acquiring, archiving, and retrieving video and still images of endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures. Intended for use by medical doctors or clinicians (e.g., speech pathologists). Prescription use only. Not for use in environments requiring sterilization.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A medical image management and processing system is a device that provides one or more capabilities relating to the review and digital processing of medical images for the purposes of interpretation by a trained practitioner of disease detection, diagnosis, or patient management. The software components may provide advanced or complex image processing functions for image manipulation, enhancement, or quantification that are intended for use in the interpretation and analysis of medical images. Advanced image manipulation functions may include image segmentation, multimodality image registration, or 3D visualization. Complex quantitative functions may include semi-automated measurements or time-series measurements.

Special Controls

*Classification.* Class II (special controls; voluntary standards—Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Std., Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) Std., Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) Test Pattern).

Altaravision has expanded the capabilities of the NDOHD system to include a computer and a camera, included a lossy image compression mechanism using standard irreversible compression technique, H.264, added a time code on the display of the image, created camera controls and added profiles for multiple camera settings and user preferences. Therefore, Altaravision has created a picture archiving and communication system that provides capabilities related to the acceptance, transfer, display, storage and digital processing of images and videos. Based on the new system functions and the use of the device, the NDOнo system is now considered a Class II device and requires a premarket approval. The NDOHD system is intended for viewing, acquiring, archiving and retrieving video and still images of endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures. ### Indications for Use The NDOHD system is intended for viewing, acquiring, archiving and retrieving video and still images of endoscopic and fluoroscopic procedures. The professionals or practitioners using this system would be medical doctors or clinicians such as speech pathologists. The device is a prescription device.
