Intended Use

Device Story

Reagents for quantitative enzymatic photometric determination of ALP, Amylase, and LDH activity in serum samples; used on ACE Axcel Clinical Chemistry System. System measures rate of absorbance change at specific wavelengths (ALP: 408 nm; Amylase: 408 nm; LDH: 340 nm) to calculate enzyme activity. Used in clinical laboratories or physician office laboratories by trained operators. Output provides quantitative enzyme activity levels (U/L) to assist clinicians in diagnosing/monitoring liver, bone, pancreatic, and cardiac conditions. Benefits include rapid, automated diagnostic testing for patient management.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Precision studies conducted over 22 days and at three Physician Office Laboratory (POL) sites. Accuracy evaluated via correlation studies comparing ACE Axcel (y) to predicate ACE system (x) using 111-121 patient samples per analyte. Correlation coefficients (r) ranged from 0.9957 to 1.0000. Detection limits: 1.3 U/L (ALP), 8.5 U/L (Amylase), 8.3 U/L (LDH).

The rate of increase in absorbance, monitored<br>bichromatically at 408 nm/ 647 nm, is directly proportional to the a-<br>amylase activity in the sample.<br><br>In the ACE LDH-L Reagent assay, lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes the<br>conversion of L-lactate to pyruvate.
