Intended Use

The BHdental Implant system is indicated for use in surgical and restorative applications for placement in the bone of the upper or lower jaw to provide support for prosthetic devices, such as artificial teeth, in order to restore the patient chewing function. The BHdental Implant System is also indicated for immediate loading when good primary stability is achieved and with appropriate occlusal loading.

Device Story

BHdental Implant System comprises endosseous root-form dental implants (one and two-stage), cover screws, healing caps, abutment systems, superstructures, and surgical instruments. Implants feature internal/external hexagonal or internal octagonal connections. Used by dental clinicians in surgical and restorative settings to provide support for prosthetic devices (artificial teeth) in the upper or lower jaw. System supports immediate loading protocols when primary stability is sufficient. Device restores patient chewing function. Performance verified through fatigue testing, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility assessments.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. No clinical data provided. Testing included dynamic fatigue testing (ISO 14801:2007), corrosion resistance (ASTM F746-04), and biocompatibility evaluation (ISO 10993-1:2003, ISO 7405:2008).

Technological Characteristics

Endosseous root-form dental implants; internal/external hexagonal or internal octagonal connections. Materials: Wrought titanium 6-aluminium 4-vanadium alloy (ISO 5832-3, ASTM F136) and stainless steel for instruments (ASTM F899). Surface treatment: sand blasting. Standards: ISO 14801, ISO 10993-1, ISO 7405, ASTM F746. Non-software device.

Indications for Use

Indicated for patients requiring dental implants in the upper or lower jaw to support prosthetic devices and restore chewing function; includes immediate loading when primary stability and appropriate occlusal loading are achieved.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

An endosseous dental implant abutment is a premanufactured prosthetic component directly connected to the endosseous dental implant and is intended for use as an aid in prosthetic rehabilitation.

Special Controls

*Classification.* Class II (special controls). The guidance document entitled “Class II Special Controls Guidance Document: Root-Form Endosseous Dental Implants and Endosseous Dental Implant Abutments” will serve as the special control.
