Intended Use

This device is intended for use to inject fluids into or withdraw fluids from parts of the body below the surface of the skin.

Device Story

IMC Hypodermic Needle consists of a hub, cannula, and protector. Used to inject or withdraw fluids from body tissues below the skin surface. Device features color-coded hubs corresponding to specific gauges (16G-30G). Manufactured using polypropylene hubs/protectors, SUS 304 stainless steel cannulas, and epoxy resin adhesive. Available in sterile and non-sterile configurations. Operates via manual insertion by healthcare professionals. Performance verified through hub/needle bond strength testing per ISO 7894:1993.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Hub/needle bond strength was tested according to ISO 7894:1993. Results demonstrated that the IMC Hypodermic Needle meets standard acceptance criteria for all gauge sizes (16G-30G), consistent with the predicate device.

Technological Characteristics

Materials: Polypropylene (hub/protector), SUS 304 (cannula), Epoxy Resin (adhesive). Design: Single lumen needle with bevel tip. Sizes: 16G-30G, lengths 1/2" to 1 1/2". Sterilization: Sterile and non-sterile options. Testing: ISO 7894:1993 for bond strength.

Indications for Use

Indicated for injection of fluids into or withdrawal of fluids from body tissues below the skin surface. Available in 16G-30G sizes.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A hypodermic single lumen needle is a device intended to inject fluids into, or withdraw fluids from, parts of the body below the surface of the skin. The device consists of a metal tube that is sharpened at one end and at the other end joined to a female connector (hub) designed to mate with a male connector (nozzle) of a piston syringe or an intravascular administration set.
