Intended Use

This device automatically measures human's Systolic blood pressure and heart rate by using the oscillometric method. All values can be read out in one LCD panel. Measurement position is at human being's upper arm. The intended use of this over-the-counter device is for adults aged 18 years and older with arm circumference ranging from 9 inches to 17 inches (approx. 23 cm to 43 cm) and for home use. When the device detects the appearance of irregular heartbeats during measurement, an indicated symbol will appear with measuring readings. And this device can let the memory data be transferred to the connected personal computer (PC) via USB cable.

Device Story

Oscillometric blood pressure monitor; measures systolic/diastolic pressure and heart rate at upper arm. Input: pressure oscillations via cuff; output: LCD display of readings, irregular heartbeat symbol, and risk category indicator. Features optional voice-guided measurement instructions and results. Data management: USB transfer to PC. Used in home setting by patients. Benefits: enables self-tracking of blood pressure levels and irregular heartbeat detection.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Compliance with ANSI/AAMI SP-10:2002+A1:2003+A2:2006 for manual, electronic, or automated sphygmomanometers. Safety and performance verified via IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and usability validation per IEC 62366.

Technological Characteristics

Oscillometric measurement; automatic inflation/deflation via air pump and valve. Power: 6V DC (4x AA batteries) or optional AC adapter. Connectivity: USB for PC data transfer. Features: LCD display, irregular heartbeat detection, risk category indicator, optional voice output. Standards: ANSI/AAMI SP-10, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 62366.

Indications for Use

Indicated for adults aged 18+ with arm circumference 9-17 inches (23-43 cm) for home-use blood pressure and heart rate monitoring via oscillometric method.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A noninvasive blood pressure measurement system is a device that provides a signal from which systolic, diastolic, mean, or any combination of the three pressures can be derived through the use of tranducers placed on the surface of the body.
