Intended Use

Device Story

The Diazyme Apolipoprotein A-I Assay is an in vitro diagnostic test used to measure Apo A-I levels in human serum samples. The device utilizes an immunoturbidimetric principle; patient serum is mixed with specific antiserum to form insoluble immune complexes. The resulting turbidity, which is proportional to the concentration of Apo A-I in the sample, is measured spectrophotometrically at 340 nm. The concentration is determined by comparing the sample absorbance against a standard curve. The assay is intended for use in clinical laboratory settings by trained personnel. Results are provided to healthcare providers to assist in the assessment of coronary artery disease risk. Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Precision evaluated per CLSI EP5-A (n=40 per level, CV% 0.6-3.3%). Linearity evaluated per CLSI EP6-A (R^2=0.999, range 20-228 mg/dL). Analytical specificity confirmed no interference from ascorbic acid, bilirubin, hemoglobin, triglycerides, or Apo A-II. Method comparison with predicate (n=65) yielded y = 0.908x + 2.813, R^2 = 0.979. No clinical sensitivity or specificity studies performed.
