Intended Use

The Xtrak Support catheter is intended to be used in conjunction with a steerable guidewire in order to access discreet regions of the vasculature.

Device Story

The Xtrak Support Catheter is a vascular access device used by clinicians to navigate steerable guidewires to specific regions of the vasculature. The device consists of a flexible distal section made of closely-wound coils, a stiffer torqueable mid-section, and a proximal handle with a spiraled strain relief. The shaft is constructed from a continuous length of stainless steel wire to ensure structural integrity. It is available in sizes compatible with .014" and .018" guidewires. The device is used in a clinical setting to facilitate the placement of guidewires, aiding in the navigation of complex vascular anatomy.

Clinical Evidence

Bench testing only. Testing included mechanical strength testing and biocompatibility testing to demonstrate conformance to specifications and safety/effectiveness equivalent to the predicate device.

Technological Characteristics

Constructed from stainless steel wire; features a flexible distal section with closely-wound coils, a torqueable mid-section, and a proximal handle with spiraled strain relief. Designed for .014" and .018" guidewire compatibility. No software or electronic components.

Indications for Use

Indicated for use in conjunction with a steerable guidewire to access discrete regions of the vasculature.
