Intended Use
The Electrode Store™ Surface Electrodes for Electroencephalography are intended for non-invasive use as recording electrodes in studies of physiological signals. These devices are indicated for use with adult or pediatric patients during electroencephalography, including biofeedback, sleep studies and evoked potential recordings.
Device Story
Surface electrodes for EEG; non-invasive recording of physiological signals. Input: electrical signals from patient skin surface. Output: electrical signal transmission to EEG monitoring equipment. Used in clinical settings (e.g., sleep labs, neurology clinics) by trained healthcare professionals. Device facilitates diagnostic monitoring of brain activity and physiological responses; aids clinical decision-making by providing raw signal data for interpretation by clinicians.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data; bench testing only.
Technological Characteristics
Surface electrode for EEG; non-invasive; cutaneous application. Passive device for signal conduction. No active electronic components or software.
Indications for Use
Indicated for adult and pediatric patients undergoing electroencephalography, biofeedback, sleep studies, and evoked potential recordings for non-invasive physiological signal monitoring.
Regulatory Classification
Identification
A cutaneous electrode is an electrode that is applied directly to a patient's skin either to record physiological signals (e.g., the electroencephalogram) or to apply electrical stimulation.

Dear Dr. Youngmann:
We have reviewed your Section 510(k) premarket notification of intent to market the device referenced above and have determined the device is substantially equivalent (for the indications for use stated in the enclosure) to legally marketed predicate devices marketed in interstate commerce prior to May 28, 1976, the enactment date of the Medical Device Amendments, or to devices that have been reclassified in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (Act) that do not require approval of a premarket approval application (PMA). You may, therefore, market the device, subject to the general controls provisions of the Act. The general controls provisions of the Act include requirements for annual registration, listing of devices, good manufacturing practice, labeling, and prohibitions against misbranding and adulteration.
If your device is classified (see above) into either class II (Special Controls) or class III (PMA), it may be subject to such additional controls. Existing major regulations affecting your device can be found in the Code of Federal Regulations. Title 21, Parts 800 to 898.
