Intended Use

The Bernoulli VMS software is intended to be used on a central monitoring station on mechanically ventilated patients in a hospital or hospital type environment. It is used to provide a secondary display of the ventilator and blood gas monitor data to the central station, and to provide remote monitoring and alarm surveillance. The Bernoulli VMS is intended to supplement and not replace any part of the current device monitoring procedures.

Device Story

Bernoulli VMS is a software-based system for central monitoring of mechanically ventilated patients. It ingests data from bedside ventilators and blood gas monitors; transforms these inputs into a secondary, centralized display for remote monitoring and alarm surveillance. Used in hospital environments by clinicians; supplements existing monitoring procedures without replacing them. Provides real-time visibility into patient status; facilitates remote oversight; enhances alarm awareness; supports clinical decision-making by consolidating data from disparate bedside devices into a single central station interface.

Clinical Evidence

No clinical data provided; bench testing only.

Technological Characteristics

Software-based system; operates on a central monitoring station; integrates with existing bedside ventilators and blood gas monitors for data display and alarm surveillance.

Indications for Use

Indicated for mechanically ventilated patients in hospital or hospital-type environments. Used for secondary display of ventilator and blood gas monitor data, remote monitoring, and alarm surveillance. Not intended to replace current monitoring procedures.

Regulatory Classification

Identification

A cardiac monitor (including cardiotachometer and rate alarm) is a device used to measure the heart rate from an analog signal produced by an electrocardiograph, vectorcardiograph, or blood pressure monitor. This device may sound an alarm when the heart rate falls outside preset upper and lower limits.
