Intended Use
The E-Z-EM PROTOCO2L COLON Insufflator administers and regulates carbon dioxide (CO2) as a conventional insufflator for use during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the colon, including research and conventional Colonoscopy.
Device Story
The PROTOCO2L COLON Insufflator is a medical device designed to deliver and regulate carbon dioxide (CO2) gas during colonoscopy procedures. It functions as an insufflator, providing controlled gas delivery to distend the colon for improved visualization during diagnostic or therapeutic examinations. The device is intended for use in clinical settings by healthcare professionals. By utilizing CO2 instead of room air, the device aims to improve patient comfort post-procedure, as CO2 is absorbed more rapidly by the body. The system manages gas flow and pressure to ensure safe insufflation levels throughout the procedure.
Clinical Evidence
No clinical data provided; bench testing only.
Technological Characteristics
The device is an insufflator designed for the administration and regulation of CO2 gas. It operates as an accessory to endoscopes. Technical specifications and materials are not detailed in the provided documentation.
